AV 1.1 II Tweeter

The Audison AV 1.1 II tweeter was developed with a no-compromise approach, aiming for maximum performance in high-frequency reproduction. Every detail, from the materials used to the geometry of the magnetic assembly, was carefully studied to achieve exceptional acoustic performance, ensuring detailed and accurate sound reproduction even in the most demanding listening conditions. Beyond sound quality, the tweeters in the VOCE II line come with distinctive design elements, including an elegant mesh grille and a custom texture spoke grille for a refined, modern look. Additionally, each component includes a full set of accessories, making the installation process easier and ensuring a perfect fit in any vehicle.

Hi-Res Audio

Achieving Hi-Res Audio certification with a soft dome tweeter was a true challenge. Many tweeters achieve certification using rigid dome materials, which make it easier to reach the required high-frequency performance. Our goal was to create a silk dome tweeter capable of extending its frequency response up to 40kHz—and we succeeded! The AV 1.1 II uses a larger chamber, which improves the impedance and damping characteristics and delivers a 900 Hz resonant frequency. This allows an even lower crossover frequency “handoff” to the AV 6.5 P II woofer. Installed in the car door, the mid-bass struggles in the upper midrange, and most tweeters can’t play low enough to take up the difference. The AV 1.1 II plays more than an octave lower than other tweeters in its class!

28 mm Voice Coil for astonishing dynamic

At the heart of the VOCE AV 1.1 II is a powerful N38 H-grade Neodymium magnet, selected for its high magnetic flux density and superior thermal stability compared to standard magnets. This ensures exceptional dynamics and minimal distortion across the high-frequency spectrum, extending up to 40 kHz, allowing the tweeter to achieve Hi-Res Audio certification.
The 28 mm CCAW (Copper Clad Aluminum Wire) voice coil is wound on an aluminum former, chosen for its heat dissipation properties and ability to provide optimal acoustic damping. The single-layer coil offers balanced electrical resistance, reducing dynamic compression and improving transient response for consistently clean and natural sound, even at high volumes.

FEM designed Tetolon Dome

One of the key elements for high-frequency reproduction is the Tetolon dome, developed through advanced material characterization and vibroacoustic simulations. The R&D team analyzed various types of material, evaluating their density and damping treatments, to select the one best suited to deliver a smooth, natural response across the high-frequency spectrum.
After selecting the optimal material, the designers created several dome profiles, which were tested in combination with various geometric parameters of the tweeter, eventually choosing the profile that offered the best frequency and phase response performance.
This process resulted in a soft-dome tweeter capable of obtaining Hi-Res certification, delivering a smooth and detailed sound with an immersive sound stage.

AIF Technology

The AIF (Any Install Faceplate) technology provides extraordinary flexibility for OEM integration, offering two different types of faceplates to suit any installation scenario:

• OEM: Ideal for simple and precise factory placement.
• Mesh Grille: Designed for the best compromise between protection and performance, ideal for A-pillar installations.
• Spoke Grille: Optimized for maximum acoustic performance, also perfect for A-pillar installations.

Maximum Installation Flexibility

Additionally, they come with four mounting accessories that make installation quick and easy:

• Watch band: For versatile and secure mounting.
• Double-angle cup: For custom installations with different angles.
• Flush Mounting Ring: For a clean, discreet flush installation.
• Metal mounting spring: For stable, secure mounting.

This range of accessories and mounting options allows installers to adapt the VOCE II tweeters to any environment, ensuring the best possible sound performance.
Each VOCE II product includes pre-wired cables for quick, reliable installation, along with aluminum bi-adhesive AUDISON logos, allowing users to add a distinctive, personalized touch.

OEM and faston connectors for perfect integration

AV 1.1 II is equipped with both an OEM-style automotive connector and traditional Faston connectors. This option allows the installer to choose the connection method best suited to the specific project’s needs. The availability of both connections simplifies and streamlines the installation process. Thanks to this feature, installers can work more efficiently without constraints, ensuring optimal results in both sound performance and vehicle integration. The dual connection option represents another step toward customization and adaptability, meeting the needs of every car audio enthusiast.
